Pretty jank, even for a Jam game. Not really "broken", just janky.
Not BAD, but the biggest issue I've got with it is that the game doesn't really care what you do, so every run feels meaningless. All stats do the same thing (raise your temporary perk points), and most of the perks you pick from are "raise A but lower B" or "raise B but lower A".
The best way to play is just buying up all the obvious perks with the permanent points (minus the perk that makes each run last longer), and just picking the events that raise stats with no downside, and if you get any challenges that aren't just "prevent X or Y from going down", reroll them. 5-10 permanent perk points per run, each run lasts a minute, max out all the good perks in, like, 20 minutes. After that you can focus on weight, I guess, IDK.
Upgrading the run length is really only good if you're trying to max your character's weight, but the game doesn't really give you a reason to do it, and the game's UI blocks your character's belly anyway, so the game's WG aspect is lost.
I dunno, I should rate the game lower, but this was made for a Jam, and it was a Jam dedicated to low-effort game dev, a lazy Jam with no rewards or prizes.
