I just replayed this for the first time since I was a teen, when I was first getting into interactive fiction, going down the IFDB looking for new things to get me into the genre. And honestly, this holds up. I can credit Birdland as the one game that ultimately got me into Twine, that showed me what the engine can do- and showed me what queer kids like me can do. I loved this game, and I still do. Definitely a classic.
