The writing of this game was absolutely phenomenal - it really captured the horror of an all-too-common-and-real case. I could feel the dread sinking deeper with each progression, and the amount of "oh no"s kept increasing. The message is incredibly effective, and the horror is abundant without the use of any jumpscares/screamers, background music, or unexpected sound effects - in fact, I'd say the lack of audio really adds to the atmosphere. The gameplay while simple, has its own charm; it reminds me of an older Flash point-and-click game. The controls are easy to understand and the limited things you can click on helps prevent the player from getting overwhelmed.
The CTV effect was an interesting touch, though it did take me a few minutes to get used to it. This may be a secluded case however, given my poor eyesight lol. The MySpace profile for Ashley was absolutely a whiplash but a very commendable one. The contents of her page gave the player a very solid understanding of her character. Honestly this goes for the other characters too - there's no real dialogue in the game but it paints such a clear depiction of Ashley, her friends, and her not-friends. I can't get over the writing, it's definitely the high point of this game.
One thing that bothered me was the final message, how there's barely any time to read through it before the game ends. On one hand, I think it's a great way to end the game while retaining the urgency and dread. But on the other hand, it's a bit of a drag having to look for videos online to read the whole message.
