A student project that channels some Alien Isolation vibes.
Nice intro sequence sets the tone of the game. You are returning from Phobos to a mining facility on Mars. No one is responsive to your calls. You arrive at the abandoned station and must survive long enough to find out what has happened.
Gameplay consists of roaming corridors, opening doors, finding objects and definitely nothing scary is going on while you do all this.
Graphics are nice, light sources are great and plenty of shadows give you a place to hide. You know, in case you get spooked by a loud noise or something.
Controls are typical first person standards. W,A,S,D and mouse. Crouching is important, running is a life saver.
Sound design is really strong. Ambient effects give the station life even when there is an absence of human activity. Music is packed with tension.
Okay, there's an alien, and it's coming for you. This is not the xenomorph and will not pursue you into your nightmares, however it still makes terrible shrieking sounds as it chases you down.
Was very sad to see the THANK FOR PLAYING text at the end, and would love to play a full version of this. Oh well, I do hear that Alien Isolation is amazing...
