i love this game and hate it in the best way possible. the writing crescendos the morning-after scene from ordinary to 'hmm, the deer seems to have a few misplaced expectations,' to 'oh no, this is not going to end well,' and finally to 'oh my god, i was this character and this shitstorm once'. the way the creator conveys the emotions is quite well-done, even though those emotions are unpleasant to face or remember. the intensity of my second-hand embarrassment on behalf of the deer has never been matched in another game, which i think is a testament to the clarity with which the scenes are portrayed. there were many points i had my face in my hands groaning aloud, 'oh god, oh no, i hate this', cringing at the combination of similar memories from my younger self and the specific situation presented on the screen. while i did hate reliving that time through the character, i also kinda loved it. the ending made that climax worth it to get through, though, and the deer is definitely luckier than i was in having an open and constructive discussion with the bear. great work!
