Wandersong isn't just a feel-good game. It's a special piece of art with a timeless message and, to quote a friend of mine who suggested I play it, if everyone played it and understood it the world would be a little nicer of a place.
As a silly, well-meaning and fun-loving bard, go on a sidescrolling, musical adventure with witches, pirates, ghosts, platforming, puzzles and more in search of the magical Earthsong- and just maybe stop the universe from ending. The game features a huge soundtrack by A Shell in the Pit, who also worked on Cellar Door Games' Full Metal Furies, with which it shares a colorful palette and a love for puzzles- though Wandersongs' are far more forgiving.
Though the platforming is occasionally janky and you might clip through a wall or two, the game never outlives its welcome and there is a lot of variety in what you can do with your singing to make things happen- Wandersong understands that puzzles should be fun rather then brain-meltingly frustrating. And it is absolutely filled with charming characters and good dialogue, especially from the grumpy witch deuteragonist, Miriam.
A hidden message from the developer expressed that if even one person played Wandersong and enjoyed it, their efforts were worth it. Well, there were a lot more then just one- and I am proud to be among them.
