Despite its apparent simplicity, this game is a testament to what an amazing storytelling medium videogames can be. Within the first moments, multiple perspectives are used to introduce us to this grim world and scenario in vivid detail. The gameplay itself allows the player to feel a deep sense of dread, guilt, and/or nihilism, making us the authors of this horror as much as the storyteller. It reminds me of short stories like “The Lottery” or “All the King’s Horses,” a dark allegory for  the human condition.
