I have only done the first full level and one of the minilevels but i can already tell this is a great game.
Earlier this year I played a celeste-inspired game that took a lot of inspiration control and graphics-wise, yet fumbled in the execution. And no shade to that developer - I've also wanted to make a celeste-like too - but I bring this up because this feels like the opposite case. Like that game took celeste and changed the details, but you took a lot of the *details* that made celeste feel so good to play, and applied them to a new gameplay style. A gameplay that feels like a heaven-made combination between Sonic and Celeste. And as someone who isn't as much of a fan of the gameplay in sonic... this feels like i finally get to enjoy momentum gameplay in a way that fits more personally to my tastes. Thank you.
Forgive me for comparing it to celeste a lot, it's just one of my better reference points. The game itself does have a very different focus, less precision platforming, more momentum fun. And that's wonderful. I wish you good luck, and may your game be as successful as it could be.
...Although i wouldn't mind a stage-ending jingle. The silence is kind of anticlimactic, personally. At least if the numbers had sound as they went up, it would feel better.
