Not an engaging game design or experience. Nothing about how this future could unfold was made any better or any clearer by the game's overly simplistic mechanics, because there was almost no connection at all between the two. Games can't have a theme tacked on top without any relationship to the underlying mechanics: the game mechanics have to inform (or in the case of simulation games- simulate) the processes driving the theme, otherwise the theme rings hollow. It felt even worse than simply straight up listening to a lecture on the subject, because it was a completely wasted opportunity to explore interesting ideas.
