I like the aesthetics, I like the little puppet merchant, and I like the atmosphere, and the dedication to recreating the feel of a PS1 game is neat, but I'm afraid I'm just not a fan of the tank controls. They're an accurate recreation of PS1 controls from games like Resident Evil, but by being so accurate they're also just as awkward and frustrating. They make combat difficult, which on its own is fine and I could have probably handled, if I'd managed to find anywhere to save the game. I didn't see any tho, so every time I died (which was quite a few times) I had to slowly start all over again, including going through the unskippable cutscenes and dialogue. Because of this, I stopped playing after about an hour or so. It might just be a me problem, maybe there are other people who mastered the PS1 tank controls and are fine with this, but unfortunately I just find it offputting. Maybe there is a way to update the tank controls to feel less awkward and frustrating, or at the very least add some save points and ways of skipping dialogue/cutscenes you've already seen so that death is less of a drag.
