ShumpHomie? rated ANATOMY

A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

For the past 3 years on John Wolfe's YouTube channel, I rewatched his play through of this masterpiece of psychological horror probably 4-5 times.  I treated it like I do a great novel from an author I admire or a great film from a director that I get inspired by.

Like any great piece of media, Anatomy, treats me with each viewing, something that I missed prior.  Even if it's one little detail, I am still left pondering over it well into the night.

I can finally say that today, I am a proud owner of this work and actually got to play and experience it directly for the very first time!  I am pleased to report that even after admiring it for years and being inspired by it...Actually interacting with it yourself is a different beast!  To say that I was un-nerved would be an understatement!  I could not be happier with this fact!

The total package:  The graphics, the ambient sounds, the writing that provides those all too memorable audio recordings that provides the player with some thought-provoking and quite unsettling/disturbing analogies that liken the parts of a home to parts and inner workings of the human body...the pacing of this experience, the experience in general from start to finish...  This to me, is psychological horror at it's very best!  If H.P.  Lovecraft, who once said that fear of the unknown is the strongest fear imaginable, was still with us...I would wager that he too would be a fan of Kitty HorrorShow's ANATOMY!  At the very least, I'm sure it would inspire him to the fullest extent possible!

Kitty Horrorshow, if you happen to read this little review of mine.  I have to ask you a question that I've wanted to ask you for years.  Where did the inspiration for the content of those fantastic audio recordings and game setting come from?  Those analogies have haunted, fascinated, and inspired some really out of the box thoughts of my own! Actually playing it today feeds this question of mine even more.  If at all possible, I would love to hear from you, the inspiration behind this and/or how this concept came to you.  Hearing back from you would, very sincerely, would be a blessing to me.  Thank you for your time and keep being you!!!! When my finical situation changes, I hope to support you on Pateron.  I look forward to diving into some of your other work in the future!
