The movement in the game is pretty okay until you get to the parts where you got to transport items. It's interesting that the items limit the player, and can open up some puzzley bits, but initially, it wasn't clear to me at first that i had to press a button and pick it up, as opposed to it going into my inventory. i only figured that out after not getting expected dialogue for a part of the progression.
And the box puzzles suck. The fact that it has you interpreting things in binary isn't the problem, I love the programming references, but what wasn't clear to me at first how I was supposed to interpret the puzzle area from the get go until i had to exhaust dialogue. Now, it's nice that the box puzzle can be unsoftlocked, but like, cmon... if I mess up one bit, i have to start all over again! Seriously, box puzzles in an action platformer where i also have to think? the two slowest things combined when all i want to do is dash around with fun movement! the puzzle part is just a big weakness to the potential of the game as a platformer.
Next, I'm not a big lover of unskippable speech boxes, and it's entirely my fault for choosing to play a dialogue-intensive game, but golly gee gosh, I don't want to spam a button while I can't even understand the gobbledygook in the box. It's fine that the slimes' language isn't understood, but just one spacebar press' worth of lines is enough, dude.
Those are most of my gripes with the game, though. I really liked exploring around the starting area and figuring out the game mechanics, and the world building is pretty tasty, I do like it, and I hope this game does flourish as time goes on!
