As much as the Lovecraft excerpts almost clashed with the tone it ended up being fitting that my last moments in this game were a desperate scramble between story after story trying to piece together everything as much as humanly possible, refusing to let anything slip by me before the rapture came, rebelling against inevitability again and again and again and trying to run faster and faster and faster fixated on a goal of only evading acceptance with as much futility as I could grasp before it was all, finally, snuffed out, and any amount effort faded away to nothing.

The only criticism I have is that I think the ending would've been even more impactful if the game hard quit right as you got raptured, cementing the finality more so than simply returning to the menu, but yeah. This is beautiful.
