I didn't know that the game had music until I saw the credits, so I missed part of the experience while playing. During the credits I turned on my computer audio so I did hear the song at the end for a little while.
I played through the game and got Stele's ending. My favorite parts were the conversations between friends. To me, it was a story about someone trying to support their friend, and I liked how it was from the perspective of the person they were supporting. The playable character's feeling of emptiness comes through, but you also can really feel that their friends care about them in a way that the playable character might not be able to tell.
The gameplay at times was confusing to me.If you press x, it brings up an RPG screen with stats and abilities to heal and use spark which felt random and didn't feel like it fit too much except that you know from their conversations that they clearly liked video games. I think if you want to make it more thematic, you could do things like lower their health to show that they're tired, and change the abilities to fit the game's themes more. Or you could maybe remove the setting unless it's used in another storyline.
The grocery store felt really big and with the camera angles it was sometimes confusing to navigate because I forgot I could move the camera with other buttons. Also, I wasn't sure if you could pull the signs at first, and then to reset the sign puzzles you had to leave and reenter which I think everyone would have to do once which isn't too bad, but maybe make it clearer you can only push them. In general, a little more indication would have helped make the game smoother for me.
It was a nice game, and I liked how you created kind, caring friends.
