If you like your furry VNs with a dose of horror and mystery, then Burrows is a must play for you. It's also the sort of mystery-horror that really should be played blind.
The best summary I can offer is that you play as Grey, a possum living in Louisiana during the 1920s. Things happen and he meets a cast of characters who leave an impression in him, and the so the story goes.
Burrows is a game that sticks with you after you play it, which is no small feat. After my first play through I reflected and recontextualized the early game, discussed theories with friends, speculated about characters and how this world works. It has staying power.
Absolutely excellent presentation in all aspects — the dialogue boxes, the CGs, the absolutely stunning and Hotel Dusk-esque menu, the character designs, everything.
Now, being more specific with my experience... Gabe's story killed me. I liked all of it. The way it paints its setting, the characters and the archetypes at play, both the bits of humor and darkness. For the record I played it on stream with friends, stopping every now and then to discuss details or try and guess what was coming next, and there were moments when I was simply obliterated by how the game guessed exactly what I was thinking.
Burrows is a great experience. Gabe is perfect and soon I'll play the rest of the content. Highly recommend this one.
