Plain overall is a solid game that was enjoyable. It tells an interesting story of a woman being transported to the future and having to adjust to it. My main nitpick against it was that we don’t get to learn much about the people and future world. Also the jump from Max and Riley being friend to anything more seemed sudden. Overall more depth and detail would have made Plain a much better game. As it stands I enjoyed my time with it and like what story we did get. It made me want more of it which is a compliment. The art style was very nice which is part of the reason I would of liked to see more of the future city. The humour was also pretty good. There are choices in the game but not a ton of them. I also found that for more than a few I wished I had different options because what I could make Riley do or say wasn’t quite what I actually wanted to. The ending did feel a bit abrupt as the last couple weeks before Riley’s trial just seem to fly by without much being told to you or any input being given by you the player.

    I played Plain on Linux. It never crashed and I didn’t notice any bugs or spelling mistakes. You can save whenever you want and there are sixty save slots. Alt-Tab worked.

    Nitpicks aside there is an enjoyable experience to be had here. Considering it is free of charge I would at least give it a try. I finished my first play through in one hour and seventeen minutes.
