Overall, a solid, fun RPG maker game with some interesting mechanics. The Dual Soul system works pretty well by offering you strategic choices to optimize damage or mitigate incoming damage, and after getting used to it, is easy to incorporate in combat (even playing on Full Active combat). That being said, the balance of the souls is a little all over the place, with some being significantly better than others. Also, any soul with high agility or the ability to boost agility also can complete destroy any enemies or bosses (e.g. Brawler). By the half-way point of the game, there really isn't a ton of challenge to be found, even with the optional bosses that I was able to find. Most of the stock RPG maker assets and custom sprite work look and blend together pretty well, with the notable exception being enemy sprites, which sometimes look very out of place. The game is a little slow to get started, but once you do get more freedom, it does have a pretty engaging (though sometimes convoluted) plot. In addition, the main cast of characters are all really well realized through surprisingly good dialogue. I'd recommend this game to any classic J-RPG fan and hope it gets more attention out of its inclusion in recent bundles!
