Granted, my group is 200% the audience for this game, being made up of several religious studies scholars, but we went all in on the collaborative design of the deity, the religious tradition, the temple, and the ceremony, and were richly rewarded in gameplay. The mechanics were simple enough to understand immediately, but since each roll invited description from the players who weren't rolling, they never felt over-simplistic. I love the "play to lose" mentality, and seeing it in a comedy game instead of a horror game just yielded sublime chaos. Probably the only TTRPG oneshot I've ever actually finished in one session and felt satisfied at the end of it. Marvelous!
