Sanctuary is very a standard MY WOLF story set in a world that is not as interesting as its presentation wants you to think.
Set in a fantasy world, Sanctuary plays the role of being one of those stories with much to learn and complex topics to understand without really offering those. Following in the steps of projects with deep worldbuilding, there is a "Lexicon" system, but here it ends up so superfluous as to be distracting. A lot of this project's world borrows from video-games and from worlds inspired by videogames, giving it a LitRPG feel. While that streamlines the world for the reader, the game really wants you to think its world is deeper than it actually is.
When it comes to characters (in this build) the only one remotely deserving of attention is the deuteragonist/love interest Rangativurk. He's clearly meant to come off as an "asshole with a heart of gold," not enough of his goodness is actually displayed. The character is conceited and prideful, but when he does get the chance to display some of his better qualities, he often just doubles down on that behaviour. ...until a massive character turn at the end of the first build! That happens after a two-day timeskip, but the reader doesn't even get some description of Ran warming up, making his following appearance have a jarring shift.
Sanctuary does have more than a couple of positives, however. Though the sentence-to-sentence writing is simply serviceable, the pacing is pretty well handled (sans the aforementioned sudden turn). The art too is pretty nice, with CGs in particular displaying a good sense of composition and knowing how to draw the viewer's eyes.
Overall, I cannot overlook Sanctuary's shortcomings. It's not as deep as it wants and lacking in characters worth grabbing onto. It's the MY WOLF story in its essence, bringing nothing that really differentiates itself from the basic formula. Still, it is okay. Recommended if you need a more "normal" and straightforward story of this kind.
