Cold Conflict week 2

Cold Conflict Dev log 

Our first prototypes were successful at demonstrating what we wanted to achieve for our game. Nikita displayed a movement system where he showcased the type of movement system, we would prefer to have which had the basic WASD movement scheme with a slide on the ctrl key. Arthur showcased a slicing mechanic in his prototype to show how he wanted to implement a melee system within the game. It involved clicking and moving your camera to slice. 

We learnt a lot from play testers interacting with our prototypes. They told us issues they found with the movement like with movement being too floaty or the lack of a crouch button making hard to get out areas if you slide under them. 

In the next prototype we wanted to answer the following questions.  

How would shooting work in our fps? 

(Things like what sort of projectiles we’ll have, 

How would item pickups work in the game? 

How would slicing work in combination with the movement system? 

Our initial project goals were to develop a fps like doom or deus ex. We wanted to use very low poly graphics to fit the style of those games.
