From the last playtest, we realized that there is still a lot of work to be done. However, we have a basic game build that includes gameplay, a main story, and a mental health system. For the upcoming showoff presentation, we have decided to focus on improving our dialogue UI and concentrating more on instructions and visual effects to enhance the elements that increase or decrease during gameplay. We do not plan to add more features to the game. The only challenge we are facing is with the dialogue UI. I used a Dialogue System for Unity 2.0, but I encountered difficulty in switching dialogue panels within a scene. Although I found a solution to create a new scene with a different dialogue controller, this requires transforming the data and creating a new conversation in a new scene. As the tutorials did not cover this session, I will search online for other solutions. We also want to improve the visual effects as we found that the sound effects did not capture the players' attention, and they heard the sound but did not understand what was happening. We believe it is worth implementing for our showcase build. Our narrative is fine, but we need to proofread it and make it sound more like a natural conversation. Additionally, we plan to clarify the instructions a little bit more to guide players on Day 2. There is still much left to be done to complete the game.
Compared to the previous builds, our game has improved significantly, and we have adjusted our project plan and game accordingly. However, due to time constraints, we have decided to focus on creating one cyberbullying scenario and educating players on how to deal with this situation. We plan to provide players with an explanation after they make a choice to guide them through the scenario.
