Dev6-DevelopingProgress

We have done all the core gameplay and implemented it in Unity.  According to the last playtest report, our game lacks well-designed tutorials to provide intuitive instructions. As an outcome, we made a prototype on Miro to get deeply concept, and it also saved us a lot of time in finding a solution.  For the second playtest, we want to show more narrative and one completed storyline. It actually involves and interacts with all features. We finished the implementation of the one main story branch, but without endings, since it will involve more gameplay, and we didn’t have enough time to develop all elements at once. In playtest 2, we still encountered the same issue as playtest 1, which was the tutorial guideline. So my group decided to concentrate more on it, but we can see there’s wiggle room for us to improve. We implemented new art assets for the room and UIs in Unity. As all essential features didn’t intertwine with each other, we spent a lot of time trying to find a solution for it. Our final solution was adding a new feature like the protagonist’s skills which can upgrade by interacting with players’ behaviours. And the skills will be accounted for in influencing endings as well. The difficulty for me is the dialogue system, which doesn’t provide deep concepts and tutorials. Therefore, I need to spend massive time learning and investigating the features. The time was too tight between playtest 1 and playtest 2, so we didn’t prepare it well, but we finally reached our goal of testing the narrative part, which both of us were glad about. For playtest 3, I’d like to implement full game features and story this time, and we will make a thorough plan to achieve it. We knew our group size is the biggest concern, but we are trying our best to develop the game, and we hope the next version could be the completed one.
