Hey everyone, was wondering if I can get some feedback on this! I personally think I have something that could turn more fun here with the enemies and different kinds of weapons the player could have, but I would like other people's opinion as well!

Hi Ichit,

I had a look at your game, seems quite fun so far! Here’s my feedback:

  • For the bars showing if my bullets are recharged, it would be better if when they were full, they were “flashing” or animating, or changing color, something to tell me that they are ready without me having to look at the bar specifically. I found it hard to concentrate on dodging bullets and trying to look if my bullets are ready or not.

  • The upgrades seem to be completely random at the end of each enemy. In the first few “levels”, I got only upgrades that heal me, but I had lost no health, so I was still weak. A suggestion would be to categorise them, for example at the end of every enemy, the user gets one permanent upgrade, and one healing one, or something to that effect.

  • I’m not sure how, but I managed to spawn to enemies at once. When I was finishing a level, I was in the middle of moving, and as I was picking upgrades, an enemy spawn. I quickly picked the upgrades, and once I did another enemy spawned. Once I killed one of them, the game gave me more upgrades, but the other enemy was still hitting me.

  • Would be nice to have collision, so enemies wouldn’t aggressively try to be at the same square at me.

  • Maybe have the first few enemies move slower? The game’s pace seems to be slow, as in I have to fight 1v1 with enemies, and after every battle I get stronger, but if the first enemies move very fast, that can easily make the battles feel “less important” and I need to spend less time on it.

  • Would be fun if the map was different every time. Maybe introduce obstacles, or mazes, or things the user can interact with like traps?

  • This might be just me, because I’m on a low-end laptop, but the performance was a little sluggy. This made it harder for me to control my character and be accurate.

  • (Nit-pick) When pressing the start button, my character also shoots.

Hope this helps, this seems quite a promising game! Of course all these points are my opinions, so feel free to pick only the ones you like :)

thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely take alot of this down. I really like the idea of the rewards. I thought it was to random, but didnt think of dealing with it in that way!
