Hi, I've tried to download the Itch app a few times but I keep getting this notification:

Something went wrong

itch-setup, v1.18.0, built on Apr 10 2019 @ 07:29:17, ref 57838bc373361f2c8938336674247f869999e862

HTTP file not found on server
htfs.Open (initial request)
while opening remote signature file
Error during warm-up

I'm not very good at trouble shooting so I was hoping someone could give me advice? Thanks for any help :)

Getting this too. First time trying to download this. Running Windows 10. Trying to install it at a non-default location (not sure if that matters but fyi in case it does).

On a second attempt I got this:

while installing
Error during warm-up

I am also having this issue, I tired moving it to a different location, but it seems to be cycling through a few errors, but it always has this.

I'm having a similar problem trying to install the itch client on Mac OS X. The install just shows me a screen with "HTTP file not found on server".

For what its worth, I'm using a MacBook Pro, running Catalina. I hope this issue can be resolved soon, I'm hoping its a temporary issue to do with server load and this enormous bundle and its immense popularity!

Me too...

Same error trying to install on my D: drive (windows 10)

Same issue here

Same here.
My guess is the demand for the "Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality" is causing their server to go down or something.

welp, I'm having this issue, would love to know what to do to fix it.  ~<3

I think the only solution at this time is download it when servers aren't being bombarded with requests. I tried it many times with the same error but eventually it worked. Probably lucky with the timing I guess. Try downloading it on weird off hours and perhaps then it will work.

Thought it might have been my VPN. Didn't make a difference though. I guess we'll all just have to try again tomorrow

Same issue here.

So, It definitely seems like a server issue. I tried it several times in a row and it everntually worked. You could try that and maybe get lucky with timing or wait for off hours like someone else suggested!

and also same here Win10 Build 2004

Same here on Debian/Linux testing

Finally got it to work. Using Fedora 32. Just had to really spam the setup script. Eventually it will download the launcher

I think theres a bunch of people trying to install the software at the same time and the servers are being overloaded. Ive had the older install file and got the same errors if i chose default location or somewhere else. if you got the time, i would try to reinstall it during a time you think people wont be on a lot (so either during working hours or at night).

Hasn't worked for me yet, only change found was that my adblocker allowed my to download the setup.exe however once I got into that I still received a "http (something-something)" error. Much like I was getting by just clicking the download button with adblocker up

Their servers are very busy right now.  It took me 15 tries to successfully install and 3 times just to download the installer.  You simply need to keep trying or wait until a less busy time.  The installer is a web installer, so it has to retrieve more files from the Internet in order to install the program, which is why it fails due to their busy servers.

Rangtuk's suggestion worked, I whitelisted itch.io and now it works.  ~<3
