I hear that a lot on Love of Magic as well. The truth is that it's intentional; I hate grind. So I could add more time-slots, but now you need more content to fill those slots. I could make more unique content, but that would mean less time spent on other things (like content). Or I could make you grind the same thing multiple times for an upgrade (for example, only getting a boost from coffee every 3 times you drink it). But that doesn't feel like a meaningful upgrade.
