How is a game this new THIS fun?

I downloaded this game 2 days ago, and I can't stop playing it.

The atmosphere is surreal, the physics are fun to mess with, the characters are well-designed... it's too fun for a game that's only in alpha.

Of course, being a game this new, there are some issues. Most of them are minor, but a few can interfere with the experience. They are...

  • There's no exit function. I love playing this game, but when I want to leave it, the process is complicated.
  • The camera is very wobbly. While this isn't an issue for most of the game, when it cuts to Ingot's face the camera is disorienting and makes preparing for his attack difficult.

Those are my only major issues with the game, though, and since it's so early in development these things are to be expected. I don't know if I've ever found a game that functions this well this early in development.

I also have 2 suggestions for future features. Since I'm not a game dev, I can't speak on how these can be implemented (or if they can at all), but they're only suggestions.

  • A hammer weapon. Maybe charge-hitting it against the ground can cause heavy knockback within a certain radius, like the Gravity Hammer from Halo.
  • The Creator might summon a new monster to attack. Polywogs are already everywhere, so maybe replace the Creator's ones with a floating enemy? I don't know.

But yeah. Overall, one of the most bizarrely entertaining games I've ever played.

Hey thank you! I'm glad you like it, and thanks for the feedback too.

  • Yes, I'll add an exit button.
  • I'll try and make it a bit less wobbly. Also Ingot needs to back off altogether in his first phase, he really gets too close.
  • That hammer is a good suggestion and I'll see what I can do.
  • The Creator needs some work for sure.
