I cannot get the sticks calibrated correctly.

Hi all!

I have the Recharged version and I am using a Taranis Q X7 Tx. I have followed the installation and setup instructions to the best of my ability but I cannot get the sim to sync with my Tx sticks correctly. First off, in the calibration first screen I see the four dots representing the axis movements of both sticks. I am in Mode 2 so this should be simple. I do the stick calibration as directed then when it switches to the trim screen, I only have stick movement for the throttle and the pitch and not the yaw or roll. I have tried many times to assign the dots in the first screen to the movement of the sticks to their correct movement but the sim does not recognize the setting and goes back to it's default setting. What am I overlooking here? This is frustrating as this was working well before but I have not used the sim in a while.

If you are able to move the four dots representing the axis movement of both sticks smoothly up and down you should be fine.

Keep and eye on the dots as you go through the calibration. They should turn into "thr/yaw/pit/roll" respectively as you go through calibration. That way you can tell if the correct stick gets assigned to each channel.

If the automatic stick detection gets it wrong, you can manually click on the dot that you see is the correct one for each stick (instead of clicking "OK")
(You still need to hold the stick fully in the direction shown for the calibration to work properly)
On the Trim Settings screen you have the opportunity to trim/scale/invert if necessary.

Thanks for the reply and information. What is happening is that I see movement in all four of the dots and I do the calibration and sometimes the throttle movement is fine but there is no yaw movement. Also on the right stick, I get pitch movement just fine but there is no roll movement. On assigning the dots, if at first I move the throttle stick to see which dot moves and then click on that dot until it shows thr, then move the throttle stick again, the next dot to the right moves and that stick becomes either pitch or roll. It seems that none of the settings are staying permanent. Also, if I try to assign each dot to each stick movement, when I get to the last one the screen says "Done" and goes to the trim screen before I can calibrate the sticks. BTW, I just recently did a firmware update on my Q X7 and I also updated my version of Freerider Recharged if that information helps anything.

*UPDATE...

I have it working now. It boiled down to the four dots and each one's stick assignment. NO WHERE did I ever see any definitive instructions on how to properly set the function of the dots. After hours of trial and error with my transmitter, I finally figured out how to actually make the necessary changes in the calibration page with the dots. I won't go into how I did it but it is done.

Glad to hear that you managed to get it working!
