Looking to Improve My Demonstration

Hi,

I have released a mechanic that I believe would be interesting and add another dynamic to a game for players to contend with in existing genres of games. The project can be found at https://rolojo.itch.io/dynamic-nature.

I would like to know:

1. What is your overall impression of the idea?

2. What sort of games do you think it would be best suited to?

3. Where do you think the demonstration can be improved to enhance understanding of what is happening?

Thank you for your help :)

I had a hard time figuring out what changes were effecting what plants and animals.  I can see how if I created this, knowing the ins and outs, it could be clear what impact the changes make.  But as a fresh set of eyes it was hard to figure out.

This might not be so much a problem with the engine, but with how information is portrayed, I understand that this is just a showcase of a mechanic, but it might need some simple animations of animals eating and dieing to get across the impact of changes to the environment.

I don't mean to discourage you tho.  The concept is cool, and I can see this being used in some kind of management or God game.

Keep up the good work! :)

Hey, thanks so much for the feedback. Your points are noted and dont discourage me at all. This is the sort of feedback I need. As you say, I am judging it through the eyes of the one that created it. Your feedback gives me direction to improve further.

Much appreciated! :)

Your welcome mate!  :)

I'm glad you weren't discouraged, like I said, the idea is good!  I'll give it another go for after you update it if you like!

Would you be able to  give me some feedback on my game for me?

Here is the link if you do want to https://thesneak.itch.io/roopit-n-boopit

Have a good day :)

Thanks, I will take a look at your game and give you some feedback. :)

The Overall Idea is really innovative and seems high polished for something that didn't come out of a professional studio!

I could imagine that the mechanics could work in sandbox, RPG , City building like SIM City and maybe even in big space games like a No Mans sky or Star Citizen!

Thank you for the feedback.

When trying it out did you get a good feeling of the changes that were happening to the environment? Ie that the change in plant and animal populations were noticable while playing?
