So, how much of the game is actually generated with AI. I can tell the entire itch page was written by chat gpt but how "ai assisted" was it.

Welcome to the Halls!
Straight to the point, I like it!
AI has been involved in the development process, but it hasn't generated the game itself.
I’m a solo developer who started building this as a passion project a few months ago, using whatever tools I could find to make it a reality. I use AI extensively for implementation, debugging, iteration, and some of the writing. The direction and authorship of the game is my voice.
I make the design decisions, control and define the systems and how they interconnect, direct the development, and test and revise everything. My day job is as a Data Analyst and workflow specialist, so a lot of the way I approach building this is actually very similar to what I do professionally.
The game itself isn’t built around generative AI. There’s no runtime AI generating the gameplay. The systems, simulation, progression, dungeon generation, heraldry, etc. are designed and directed by me, and the procedural content is generated by the game’s own systems, not by an AI model.
The store/page copy has also been AI-assisted, so you’re not wrong there and it's something I really need to change at somepoint!
So “AI-assisted” is a pretty accurate description. I’d say it’s much closer to an AI-assisted solo development workflow than an AI-generated game, but that’s already disclosed on the itch page.
Happy to answer any other questions if you have them. If you've tried the game, I’d love to know what you think!
I work with AI all day every day. Most of the text seems very strongly AI, most of the UI looks AI - it has the standard problems that LLMs like Claude have whenever they try to design game UI or game copy (too complex, doesn't make sense to a human, words that are mismatched grammar, meanigns that are jumbled up, etc). If you say you wrote it, OK fine - but it currently looks very strongly like you did not. I would suggest rewriting your copy to be more natural. It's difficult to read, in exactly the way that long AI-written text is difficult to read.
Similarly ... The tutorial is not something I can believe was written by a human, it's so incredibly complex and over-fixated on details that only an AI would focus on.
All of the written parts of the game are being reauthored currently,
I'm about 20% through all the copy in the game currently at the last Patch, There's a lot and it's going to take awhile!
I never even had a story or wordlore when it started so this is all getting woven in.
All of the UI is also slowly getting updated and replaced as well as evident by the latest patch (2.11) so at some point in time Localisation will be the main thing that's AI (even that is getting help from the community to clean up), Some parts a spreadsheet game is going to look like a spreadsheet, I love Championship Manager 3
It wasn't that it was a temporary support, I built out a lot of the game before anyone had played it under the impression that me and maybe a handful of people on Itch might give it a go,
it's more that I made it as a passion project and didn't expect it to get any attention, It's also why the game has no AI art or AI Assets.
Because when art one day gets added to the game it will be designed in collaboration with a proper Human artist.
