Feature Request: Multiple HTML5 Game Versions Playable via Click to Launch in Fullscreen

I have a feature request / idea for itch.io: What if multiple HTML5 builds were all playable by clicking them under Downloads to Launch in Fullscreen?

I'm posting this here at the behest of this info page: https://itch.io/support

I don't know if this is feasible or convenient to do for itch, and I'm sure someone has thought of / suggested this kind of thing before, but in my very limited web knowledge it seems reasonable enough as a simple extension of itch's current excellent architecture.

When you upload an HTML browser-playable game to itch, with Kind of project set to HTML, under Embed options and specifically the first field How should your project be run in your page?, you can set the game to either be:

  • Embed in page, or
  • Click to launch in fullscreen

Both options work great, exactly fulfilling their intended purpose.

So what if this second option, Click to launch in fullscreen, was available to any number of HTML .zip uploads via the Download section of the game page?

There could be an additional section adjacent / equivalent to Download that appears on relevant game pages specifically for this purpose, such as "Browser Builds" or some better name, but even just in the standard Download section, I think it would be fantastic if a user could click any zip file from a list of HTML5 builds, which would open the zipped version in exactly the same manner as the Click to launch in fullscreen option for standard HTML5 games.

Feel free to shoot this down but I thought I'd suggest it. Thanks! Keep up the amazing work with itch.io, one the best websites ever created!
