Spectrogram failure

Not sure if this is happening for anyone else or if this is unique to me since I'm playing on Linux through Proton, but in all of my save files the spectrogram eventually glitches out so it only works for the first couple seconds of a playback. Problem persists through restarting the program.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any known way to fix it?

i play on linux thru wine, (using a program called lutris, i would recommend it for votv) and i dont have this problem. i have had some various problems with votv on proton, so maybe try using another compatability program?

Granted I'm pretty new to Linux, but I can't seem to get it working on anything besides Proton through Steam. Main thing being, I can't find where the default Wine prefix is located so Lutris doesn't have it loaded @.@
the folders in this OS are like a labyrinth I stg

Same, win 10. Starts after 15-20 days. I tried to remove spectrogram module - it doesnt help. Maybe a regular bug, will be fixed in future

At least I'm not the only one. I've been having this issue since pre-alpha 0.9a so I'm hoping the bug is at least known so it can be worked on.

This happened to be in the regular last 8.2 update, whatever it was. It didn't really bother me much, and I didn't realize it was a bug; I thought it just failed sometimes. But it has persisted through that and to now, so I guess it is one, huh.

Removing radar path worked for me.

Can confirm (Win), removing the radar path module allowed the Spectrogram to work again. :] Thanks!

0.9 stable update, problem persists. Per Unixe, it seems to be related to radar pathing. Will try to recreate and update this reply with results.

Update: now the spectrogram screen doesn't work at all.

Same here. Windows 11 on 0.9.0 on the a090n build

Edit: A workaround has possibly been found by simply putting the path tracker back in and removing it, at least for my case. Try it!

nothing to do with linux, just a bug with 0.9 fairly certain they are aware of it and should be fixed soon

Jup. I can confirm as well. That the radar path definitely glitches the spectrometer out. Removing the upgrade fixed it for me. Playing on Windows.

For the people wondering: yes, the radar pathing module breaks the spectrogram (as well as pencils and whiteboard) because of engine limitation: one can't draw stuff without overriding the other

Regardless of the bug, I think the "locker signals" just don't have a spectrogram, I downloaded and played them and nothing showed on the screen, but when I downloaded a normal signal and it worked fine.

Same. Win 10,  0.9n

im on 0.9.0n windows 11, the spectrogram never works, even before then. you're not alone.
