I downloaded the Windows version of the game. When I double click the application, it acts as if it is loading for a few seconds, then nothing else happens.

Hey!

Sorry to hear that you are having problems starting the game. Can you please check if your virus scanner blocks the execution and add Orcish Inn as an exception? What virus scanner do you have?

~Steven

No anti virus.

Can you give me your exact system specs, like OS, processor, RAM, graphics card/chip etc.? Do you play on a laptop? I had problems running Orcish Inn on laptops when the graphics chip didn't had certain specs, like supporting shader models and similar.

You could also try to download the free PC demo on Steam (button at the right), if you have the time. :)

It's an HP Elitebook 2760p. Running Windows 7 Professional. Processor: intel Core i5-2540M CPU @ 2.60 GHz. 4096MB RAM. Direct X 11. Chip Type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family, Internal 1696MB Memory.

I will download the steam demo and try it.

UPDATE: I downloaded the Steam PC DEMO, it downloaded and installed, but still nothing happens when I click to open it. It I try to click again, it says that the app is already running, but it doesn't appear on my task bar, nor does it appear in my task manager. Is it my laptop?

I fear there are some problems related to integrated graphics chips (especially the Intel ones) with the framework I use. It's really hard for me to track these problems down, especially because the game didn't even started (and likely hadn't any chance to produce a crashlog). I mean, you could have a quick look if there's a crashlog folder in one of the following folders:

  • "C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\My Games\OrcishInn\"
  • "C:\Users\YourUsername\Documents\OrcishInn\"
  • "C:\Users\YourUsername\OneDrive\Documents\OrcishInn\"

No crashlog, unfortunately. Aww. I really wanted to play. Thanks anyway though.

I guess your graphics drivers are up-to-date? Shooting into the dark here, sorry :(

I've probably found a solution together with one of the Orcish Inn players. Can you please try to change the graphics settings of your computer so Orcish Inn is started as a "High-performance NVIDIA processor"? Here is more information on how to do that:

Please let me know if it worked!
