Chronomancy: Watchmaker's Curse - Does it work well enough?

Hey friends, we have released our student project a few days ago, and we would love some more feedback on it! We did do a few playtest sessions, but we knew most of the participants, so most of the feedback has been pretty positive. Since our project is done, we are now thinking if it would be worth it to continue development on our game, so if you would like to take a look at it and help us out, we would be really grateful!

What's the game about?

Chronomancy: Watchmaker's Curse is a turn-based bullet hell game. You will navigate many different procedurally generated levels, fighting off enemies and living on your last few seconds!

Here's the game page!

What would we like feedback on?

  • Does the core gameplay concept work? What is missing? What could be removed?
  • Does the difficulty curve feel right? Is the game too hard/too easy in general?
  • What would make you replay the game?

If you've come this far, thank you for reading this post, and we hope you'd like to give our game a try!

Very much like the gameplay.  It is a bit difficult after a bit, but maybe you have to get used to it.  However I love that it's not too easy (as per your response to my difficulty question in the other thread).
If I can, a couple of small suggestions:
-maybe every 'x' levels should be a hard-coded and not proc generated (like a boss fight or something)
-aesthetically maybe the 'powers bar' at the bottom needs another background border grouping them all together, and perhaps rounded corners?
(I realize this is just cosmetic and subjective based on taste)

I like the original concept as a whole, and it's very well executed.  Well done!

Actually, the sixth stage is a boss fight with a pre-built arena! Difficulty is really hard to manage, so we are glad for every feedback we get regarding that!

Yeah, I want to work on that part of the UI for our next update, thank you for your feedback :)

Also, thank you for playing!  ❤

Good stuff!  I'll try to get better and get to level 6 and let you know :)
