Level-up random skill selection factors

What are the factors that affect which skills are randomized? I know that you cannot randomize skills you already have, and for magic skills you can only get Ice or your own starting element. Beyond that, there appears to be some sort of progression for magic skills with certain prerequisite skills being necessary to gain later ones. For physical skills, only your character level appears to be relevant, not any sort of prerequisite. The physical skills that deal element damage, as far as I can tell, are a completely separate thing. They don't have anything to do with your own element, and it seems like you can only get the Wind or Ice ones. Do they also have a progression like the magic skills, but simply not limited to your own element? Or are others not in the randomization list, or have I simply never happened to randomize them?

I did now finally see Water Talon for the first time ever. At level 17, if that's relevant. I have no other physical skill that does elemental damage.

Physical skills available through leveling up are determined by your class and you’ll get physical skills based on that type. There is a shared pool of physical skills that any class can learn, but each class has its own unique pool as well.

Based on what you wrote, it looked like you chose Magic Warrior class and physical skills for this class are mostly physical attacks that will interact with elemental gems.

Ah, I see. I guess the Wind and Ice ones are in the shared pool, but none of the others? I see those two all the time regardless of class.

I guess I've probably mostly seen shared pool and Protector skills. I've played every class at least a couple times, but Protector is the one I go back to the most.
