Hi there, Its a pleasure to meet you. I'm Blue or Bryn, the current project organizer and manager of Fractal Spire Studio, a small dev group who are looking to create a verity of projects. As I've said in the title, I'm currently looking for people to work with me on a small project, and if things go as I hope, build it into a larger game. So lets talk details.
What we're making:
A 3D first person gambling simulator rouge like, currently being called "Gambling Problems". Think Balatro, Clover Pit, or other "number go up" sims. The player finds themselves in a casino with the goal, outside of the joy that comes from watching a number get bigger, to earn enough to pay your way out of hells by playing a verity of casino games (ex: slots, blackjack, roulette) and using those earning to buy upgrades and then, as stated, a ticket out of hell. Now you may be saying to yourself, "that's not a small project" and you'd be right.
Currently the plan is to create the games that will be found in the casino, either one by one or in batches, and if people find enjoyment building out the full game. The first of these games being blackjack with a twist.
What I'm looking for:
Currently there is no team for this project so I'm looking for programmers, artists, the whole shebang.
- Art
- The style I would like to aim for is a surrealist, maybe even psychedelic portrayal of this world, similar to that of ENA or Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory"
- As the game will be taking place in the hells, I hope to give a sense of an otherworldly unwelcome through the art and writing.
- Programming
- This category I can't quite speak to in detail as, my abilities lay in writing, talking, and herding cats however from what I can gather I believe working in Unity may be the best bet. That all being said, I'm looking for people who have at least enough knowledge to make up for my lack
- Writing
- The story to this game would come as a cherry on the top following the gameplay told through dialog and comments from the other patrons.
Now what of payment:
If you've made it this far. Thank you. Now I've put unpaid in the title primarily due to the fact that I can't promise payment. I would like to provide payment and if anything is earned I will pay those who work on the project with a portion of the revenue.
That all being said, thank you for taking some time to read through this and if you're at all interested I've love to talk in more detail. I am available to respond either here or via my discord bluewings4 if there are any questions or if you interested in joining me in creating this project.
