When Kal teased 1.7 on X it was the Aug 3 and the release came out Aug 31 so 28 days. So Kal's tease for 1.8 was on the Sep 24 so by that logic 1.8 should release on the 22 November 2025 😅

To be honest for a true pixel art style you are best putting in time and effort and using something like Procreate and tracing other a layer of your reference image. Though for a quick and less painless method you can use AI and Photoshop

Run it through something like Gemini until you get close to effect you want

You will never get an AI Model like Gemini to get a true clean pixel style though, so this when tools like Photoshop come in

This is just a quick method though as mentioned results make vary. You are best doing it manually though to be honest with pixel art

Really depends on what you are working on, somethings can come together in half an hour, others you can spend hours on until you are happy with it, or it works.

Always helpful learning a new skill, and with things like AI these days it's never more accessible to learn the basics. If you like something, just paste into Gemini and ask it how you can create something like that. You can use free tools like Gimp for editing and if you have a tablet the free versions of Adobe software are great for starting out. If you can create something you are happy with, you have won 👍

Sorry but that will not happen. It would be massively disrespectful of me to go in and swap out original CGs . The developer with each release is reworking the CG images and I am sure by 2.0 and the Steam release comes out there will be more visual fidelity and outlines.
Adding additional content or implementing animations where possible should be free real estate, but that is not part of my plans, I would like to move on to my own thing after playing 1.8

Per image I spend on average about 30 minutes getting the prompts (Prompts/Negatives) and configuration (Model/Refine/Sampler/Steps/Scale) right

Then another 30 minutes post editing in Photoshop (Lines/Details/Colours/Saturation/Filters)

Then about 20 minutes in Grok Imagine getting the animation prompts right

All time spend depends on the image however. It is best to start off with a clear vision of what you want. As with anything in life the more time you spend practising the better you will get. The best thing you can do it try everything, do not be afraid of making mistakes and set yourself a goal and routine.

If it was not already obvious I love this game. I wish Kal and Dr.Muramasa all the best on their road to wrapping up this project (sorry for the snarky comments it is just who I am.) I hope Kal and furanh knock Roundscape Eclipse out the park when it is ready to be shown to the world.. but most of all I hope Starmaker lives on, comes back as a spinoff and has all the animations, customisations and interactive elements people are requesting and is built from the ground up with this in mind.

My images are created in the most past using Stability Matrix and the Plant Milk model. Though quite a bit of Photoshop goes into cleaning them up. Then I use Grok Imagine for animations with some tweaking in Corel VideoStudio. A number of workflows can by found in the main thread or by clicking my username. Hope this helps..
