I'm surprised that I haven't had much in the way of bugs at all in 1.8a (except the below bug/issue), especially considering I'm running the game on Linux Mint v22.1 Cinnamon through Lutris/wine. Keep up the good work Arvus!

  • Scroll bars aren't drag-able/clickable in any of the menus, only mouse wheel scrolling works, and that scrolls painfully slow, and only when you hover over a menu item does scrolling work.

When it is ready.

For what it is worth, swapping custom CGs is totally possible, I've done it for my game, replacing the backgrounds with stylized 3D renders, swapping out the "sprites" for some characters with my modified versions among other things, so yeah, that you can already do with a bit of work. :)

I say, let'em cook, let'em cook, I can wait, not sure why everyone else has gotten borderline rude about having to wait. I like this game just as much, but man.

Seeing images like these, I keep telling myself, it is ok to look at her like that, we as the player(s) are adopted. lmao

Totally agree with you, if anything, while this doesn't look particularly good, it is something that can be fixed relatively easily without breaking the game, though it is time consuming.

To me, the size isn't really an issue, that's fine, what does get to me a bit is the images (both CG and many of the character "sprites") look like they were scaled down from a larger resolution image, resulting in a lot of the non-aliased lines on the images missing pixels because the new image sizes do not have enough pixels to display the line(s) fully, especially noticeable on diagonal lines/details.

Something that is a common issue when you work in image editing software like Photoshop and scale down images without anti-aliasing on or not drawing the images originally at the needed resolution, even though this happens with anti-aliasing on too, it just generally takes a little more before it becomes noticeable.

I recently noticed this especially, since I've made a personal mod of Phoenix that edits her pants. Ever since I've seen it, I can't unsee it now. Lol. Here is an image of what I mean. (Not hating the developer, I do apologize if it comes across as that)

Oh, sorry, I somehow missed that part.

She asks you normally to go to the park wearing her usual outfit in the kitchen, once the scene for the park starts, she's wearing the sundress showing that CG you uploaded, then asks you if you could take a walk with her, and she has some dialogue, how she feels about you and that the MC makes her happy, at which point you can kiss her, there is an option to say that "you were hoping she would feel this way", when you do select that option, she starts a line, though doesn't finish it, something like:

"Oh really, I thought since you...nevermind" something along those lines (maybe hinting at some kind of consequence of having slept with many other girls, if that is the case, would be nice to have alternate dialogue there if the player hasn't slept with anyone else.), then she carries on saying she likes to spend time with you and that she would like to do this again sometime. Beyond that, I'm not sure what is the conditions for triggering the other two CGs of her wearing the Sundress though, waiting for a kiss and lifting up her dress for you.

Regarding the anniversary scene, do you only get that scene if Josef isn't around on the anniversary day? If so, that would explain why I haven't seen that scene yet, as Josef is still around in my playthrough(s), since I'm not content with the options available to get rid of him. (They all feel a bit unjustified/underwhelming, aside from the alleged treatment Anna got in their marriage from him, none of them feel well thought out, feels like a lot is left unsaid in the options available to really justify the actions of the MC to make him leave imo.)

You can actually get this with josef still around, just tell him you're doing sport stuff when he interrupts, 2nd option, then he'll leave and the scene will carry on. As for the sundress, yeah it seems to be fairly rare though.

I've seen both the 2nd and 3rd ones a lot (I'm purely a romance player), but the first one, nope, found many other CGs while modding the game that I haven't actually seen in-game (probably planned to be used, so they've been added so long or something), mostly wedding related, similar to the first CG you posted, curious about them though.

2nd CG is for the Wednesday BJ from Anna when you're 5 hearts with her (this is a scene you can switch off in the Starmaker Profile page, as the event happens every wednesday), choose the "I want that ass" or something option (can't remember the exact wording of the option) and you'll get to see that CG and 2 others.

3rd CG is a random event that only happens on Wednesdays when Anna asks you to go to the park with her. You'll see a few CGs of her in the dress, though there is one I haven't seen here of her, where she lifts up her dress for the MC.

  1. Allow the player to choose what day to skip to with the ability you unlock when you pay the debt off, instead of just skipping to friday
  2. Have different dialogue when telling Adrian that Josef left due to sleeping with Isabella, and you haven't slept with Anna yet (4 hearts, only had a BJ from Anna). Perhaps tell him that Josef slept with Isabella when Adrian asks what happened, and Adrian in turn being mad about Josef doing that, ofcourse not telling him the MC had a hand in that.

You need the Hacker trait and the injector you can buy at Joey's store in the mall, once you have those, you can open the folders on both Adrian and Josef's computers and use the injector to brute force the password to get access to them.

I'll update this post as more ideas/suggestions come up. :)

  • Would love to see some photos with Anna in her black robe. (The one you see her wearing when shes in the Wardrobe)
  • Won't mind seeing Anna in the Black & Gold New Years Eve Dress more often, maybe as an option for the studio?
  • Some way to visually track corruption/saint level with Anna would be really helpful.
  • Add a chance for Anna to want to join the player in the shower when they initiate a shower.
  • Perhaps have Anna address the player by other names based on her heart level with the player. Maybe allow for the player to address her differently too based on the heart level.
  • Allow the player to shower and then also brush their teeth without having to exit the room and come back to get the option.
  • Be able to delete specific saves individually.
  • Allow the player to go directly to the shrine instead of having to go through 3 areas each time they go to the temple to do the mini-game
  • Have other characters address Anna as something separate from what the player would address her as. (Rather weird when other characters address Anna with the same name you chose at the start of the game.)
  • Option to disable the Bloom, at times the effect is extremely bright, especially in the dish washing scene
  • Be able to cancel the sleeping menu for weekend vacations so you can carry on with Friday in case you missed something
  • Be able to skip the movie sequences (Was funny as heck when I saw them the first time though, love the humor in both movies!)
  • Item filters for the inventory would be helpful
  • Escape key can close menus, if none are open, then open the Menu for exit-ting the game.
  • Relationship tracker for all characters the player has interacted with.
  • Proper gallery for all the photos taken and intimate moments the player had with characters
  • Allow the player to discard items from their inventory, in the case of Anna, having wine in my inventory, though I have finished her quest, and only being able to give her something she doesn't like to get rid of it, isn't ideal. :)
  • Alternative way to meet Dr.Evelyn, since I haven't lost a fight in the portal, and have no intent on starting now just to be able to meet the NPC to do the farm quest. :P
  • More car choices would be awesome, though totally a cosmetic thing, maybe have the endings that do show the car, actually show the car the player owns or actively used before finishing the game with that ending.
  • Option to have dialogue appear instantly and not just sped up
  • Fix balancing with the Temple minigame, had multiple encounters where it would take several minutes per enemy and not once getting the chance to attack as the enemy keeps attacking with fast attacks one after the other.
  • Even though Master Zhen said you shouldn't say anything once you invite Anna to help with the garden, it would be pretty cool to expand on the idea of Anna asking you what happened to you the first time you fought the spirits, and you tell her the truth about where you were and why it looked like you were in a fight.

Despite having finished the quest and getting the trait, after getting Anna to 5 hearts, the gym quest stays incomplete in the quest log no matter how many times you try to do the special training afterwards.

Oh, I missed that, thanks for telling me. :)

A few bugs  I encountered on my subsequent playthroughs. 

  • Operating System: Linux Mint v22.1 cinnamon.
  • Game Version: Latest

I'll be updating this post as I run into more bugs

  • Gym quest log doesn't seem to update to show the special training was completed if it is done before Anna is +4 hearts, and stays incomplete even after getting Anna to +4 hearts. No matter how many times the player redoes the special training.
  • Still a few spelling/grammar mistakes in some of the lines from Anna and a few other characters
  • Anna uses the Josef naming for what the Player is to him instead of using the specified name the player is to her when in dialogue with her. All my dialogue she referred to me as "buddy" which was set for Josef, instead of the name I specified, what I am to her.
  • After hitting +5 million, save slots no longer show time, only date, seems to also be partially tied to the idle income meter from what I experienced.
  • Can't type anything into the text field next to save slots, is it still w.i.p. or a bug?
  • Josef leaving, Adrian leaving, completed Anna's storyline and selecting the option to stop the starmaker page result in the same ending as if Josef never left.
  • Tower Defense game just places all the towers in a straight line over the path enemies are walking on, instead of like it is shown in the screenshot on the front page here on itch.
  • Health counter in the tower defense game cuts off when health reaches 4 digit figures.
  • Miss Zero appears twice in her shop on Anna's Birthday when you go to get the scented candles from her, and its your first time being in her shop.
  • Audio slider in the "Menu" doesn't save and resets after re-launching the game
  • On Wednesdays, taking a photo in the Kitchen removes the option to take a photo in the wardrobe, however it does work fine when done the other way around, first wardrobe, then kitchen. Similar issue with the Pool on Mondays, in this case needing to take a photo in the kitchen first, then in the pool, otherwise the kitchen option isn't available.
  • First time Christmas eve event doesn't seem to change the background for the player's home, both hallway and living room.
  • On Thursdays, Adrian can be seen when going Upstairs, even though he is supposed to be at the chess club
  • Often times, taking two photos in the Kitchen, the photos end up stacking on top of each other instead of moving apart to show both images.
  • Mei appears twice in the same scene when called to the apartment, similar to miss Zero from above.
  • Images on the starmaker page would sometimes show the incorrect image after having taken a photo. In my case, asked Anna to throw peace signs and smile, but the photo in the starmaker page shows a completely different image to the one I actually took.
  • Hacking Adrian's computer before reaching max hearts with Anna and telling her about Adrian, results in the quest log never removing the quest even after finishing the quest. (Applies to several other quests including the Gym quest for the Athlete trait)
  • Telling Chloe you're not interested in a colab results in dialogue starting over as if you just arrived, not being able to end the dialogue at all, looping over and over again.
  • Reloading a save game on a day that has a special event such as a Birthday, resets the hallway back to its normal state instead of showing the event appropriate background for that day.
  • "Bigger Pie" upgrade to increase fan income by $10 per fan isn't being applied like the first upgrade does. Income stays at $15 as if the upgrade was never taken by the player.
  • Purchasing a campaign, then buying the upgrade to run 2 campaigns and purchasing the 2nd one a few days after the first one resulted in the first campaign expiring, but still shows 2 active campaigns, and the player is unable to buy any campaigns afterwards until both campaigns have expired.
  • Reloading a save while the music is muted, un-mutes the music despite the UI Icon still showing the music is muted
  • Talking to River the first time and ordering a cosplay from them and then reloading a save, breaks the quest with River, resulting in the quest only ever asking you to pay $2000 whenever you speak to them, never progressing any farther.
  • Rain Ambient SFX is not affected by the game audio volume slider.
  • Secondary water SFX playing when the player washes the dishes is not being affected by the game audio volume slider.

Hey Arvus, I'm more of a Romance player than a Slut route player, so the below suggestions/ideas come from that perspective. :)

1) Have Josef leave on his own volition as an option, perhaps through the hinted "Divorce to protect Anna" idea he mentioned (Maybe have a set time in which the debt must be paid to trigger this event, 2 years or something fairly long-ish) or maybe an ulterior motive to leave. I don't per say hate the guy, but don't want to go the Isabelle route or chase the guy away or want to share Anna with him long term since chasing him away doesn't feel like its completely justified in terms of responses available to the Player, despite him having dealings with shady characters and allegedly having mistreated Anna in their marriage to the point where she fell apart in the kitchen because of it. (Loyal to a fault more often than not.)

2) Have a much more clear explanation for Josef leaving when talking to Adrian, explain to him what Josef has done to Anna and his dealings in the past, Mario, Isabelle events in his office, perhaps even the Hitman event etc, maybe mentioning the Isabelle encounter with her claiming that MC, Anna and Adrian are to blame for dragging down Josef, and she making a pass on MC. I feel like options given don't fully justify the disdain towards Josef when he is told to leave, making Adrian an enemy, he hasn't exactly been treated well either, and I'm not one for sharing Anna or any other character just to have him on my side. (Loyalty strikes again...sigh)

3) Be able to play through to the end without engaging with Celeste, my current playthrough I haven't done her quest, but with the use of strategic skills and focus on fans from almost the beginning, I have ended up having a much larger income pool, more than triple the amount of subs, and +10 times more fans than her even though she steals followers every Wednesday, in turn, I feel like this can be a viable way to de-throne Celeste without getting mixed up with her. (Getting some bad vibes from that one, don't like her one bit. lmao)

4) In my current playthrough I did not take Mario up on his offer, while hard at first, I did manage to get the coin for the time being to pay that shady Frank guy until Tristan (bless your soul fr) rocked up, though I am more concerned about what happened to the Frank since he is gone now, temporary or permanent. I'm not keen on using force to get rid of ol Frank. Perhaps have a way to resolve the Hitman issue without resorting to murder or being a village bicycle if he didn't leave permanently after Tristan came around?

5) Option maybe to disable the futa thing for players like myself who aren't all to keen on that, I realize it is optional, and at first, I thought I HAD to share Phoenix with Anna in order to get the Harem ending, the quest log never updating to show I did in fact complete the requirements in the gym may have helped with that expectation, but it would be slightly less awkward to deal with them in the gym, also perhaps extend the activities in the gym beyond just 5 times exercise each training level?

6) Expansion on the main bedroom when Josef is gone. Cuddling is cool, though that being the only thing to do there, feels like the room is under utilized, same goes for the wardrobe and the office, maybe the office can become something of a headquarters for the Starmaker page when Josef is gone or something.

7) Any plans for mod support? I understand that adding mod support is a giant undertaking, just asking out of curiosity since I have made a personal mod that replaces some of the backgrounds in the apartment with my own backgrounds, though probably not the best way to mod the game, but it sort of worked. :P

8) Have a clear quest log for Ken's questline, in my playthrough I had to look at the guide on what to do for his quest after taking the photo in front of the Entrance with Anna, since there was no quest log in the journal about it, not sure if this is a bug though.

140 hours in, I'm not one for visual novels (my first game has been Starmaker Story), but you've done something really good, keep up the great work!
