Hello, I’m experiencing a deindexing issue with my game

Good afternoon,

Yesterday I uploaded it about 4 times trying to make the web build work since I couldn’t get it running. I think that today, when I edited the game and changed the images, I got deindexed banned, I think the system may have detected it as if I was abusing it, but I honestly didn’t know that editing would “bump” the game. This is my first time using itch.io as a creator and I really didn’t know about that. After I started looking into what might have gone wrong, I realized there is a “Draft” option for exactly what I was trying to do,  re-upload the game to make it work and edit the images. I truly didn’t do this on purpose, and I really don’t want my game to stay shadow banned because of this. Please, if there’s anyone who can help me, I would be extremely grateful!

The forum is answered by the community, not the Itch staff. What you're asking for is something you should request by contacting support, not through the forum.

Regarding your issue, it's most likely that the automatic algorithm deindexed you, and you're on the manual review list.

Unfortunately, with the issue with payment methods and NSFW games, it seems that the Itch staff is overwhelmed with support requests, so their response times are taking much longer than usual.

In the meantime, I recommend reading this thread from the moderator where he discusses game indexing:

Hi, thanks for your reply! In the end the problem got solved luckily after talking with support!

What i think Itch and Steam should do is to start accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency as payment. If the credit card companies want to be Jesus freaks, just stop using their services. Let their faces be eaten by their own leopards.
