I am not sure it will affect the Starmaker Story projects directly at the moment, as it is a free game. It is currently permissible to upload free adult games on itch.io, provided they adhere to the platform’s updated content guidelines. This means they "may" need to make some adjustments to 1.7. But I believe the delay has been a result of their other projects, not to mention the amount of burnout that will result in. From pervious posts it appears the developer is close to code complete on 1.7, but there are most likely all manor of bugs that need clearing before it is ready to post.

don't worry too much, i've been a supporter from Arvus games for years now, i've been around even while they were still making their first project named Roundscape Adorevia.
Firstly remember, while starmaker is awesome, it's still a side project, they are working on the sequel to their 1st game ever which for now their refers as Roundscape 2 but the name could still be changed.. at some point they said maybe they would name it Roundscape Eclipse... anyways their focus is not completely on Starmaker. And honestly if you saw how GOOD Roundscape 2 is looking... you would be completely shocked xD. It's basically a Ero RPG game seen from top down (like Warcraft 3 for those who know), and the level of liberty is very high.
Now Starmaker... well maybe it's being delayed not only because of the feminist crap, it could also because of some of their habts, and i tell you guys this from experience, sometimes when they do stuff like that, is simply because they get these last minute crazy awesome idea and they simply go for it and put it into the game... i wouldn't be surprised if patch 1.7 is more like a patch 1.7.5 xD (they have done it several times...)
So stick around be patient and support them just like any other Adult game maker... right now it's a very dark time for NSFW games in general... unless you're in Japan, Japan has been simply giving no flying fucks to the feminists xD... Most of their website for NSFW games already even found a counter to the Mastercard and VISA issues thanks to their Japanese Amazon that's completely unlinked to the global Amazon, meaning they follow japanese laws and Mastercard and VISA would never dare debank a market as heavy and Big as Amazon it woudl bbe too much of a huge loss
This is probably the best thing to happen for nsfw devs, I mean it is disheartening to see an entire industry trying to tear down and burn something i love. But it also artificially cuts the supply and increases the demand much higher. Meaning the devs that can handle it won't be starving anytime soon.
People desperately want to see this dev and his/her team succeed. Now it's not even because they make good games -which they do- it's about seeing david beat goliath.
These people were already censoring and condemning nsfw devs behind the scenes, its only now that they've declared outright war.
This is not a downfall, its a opportunity to unify and unite to clean out a corrupt system. This entire platform, this entire community of hundreds of millions of people wants to see these people fall on their swords.

Damn ai sure is useful. That said, most of this are actually not specifically about artistic freedom but going against established norm, anti-religion or criticizing an authoritarian state. Questioning the dear leader? To the gallows. Being a homosexual? To the gallows. Asking why can't have big booty statues like the ancient Greeks did? Believe it or not to the gallows with you. But I'll concede what they fought for is something we take for granted in the modern age. I can freely declare I'm agnostic without getting targeted by a religious inquisition not because some guy asked why they couldn't write smut but because people fought against religious persecution.
I got more invested in this argument than I would like. As long as what you're fighting for is the freedom of expression and not some weird shit, then sure you'd have my support.
Honestly banning art directly has never been a popular regime since people really enjoy art. But banning art you don't like has. Every seriously tyrannical regime has done it since time immoral and the only reason you can't do so in America is because of all the people who have died standing up for what they thought is right (and the ideology those people's deaths helped inspire.) Even something as silly as starmaker story would get you hanged in a place like Iran. That seems like an overblown and seriously ridiculous notion to first world citizens but it's very possible in places without explicit freedom of artistic expression.
You couldn't say you have freedom of speech if your senator could cut your tongue off if you said something bad about him right? That's basically what artistic freedom is. We could easily backslide right back to 50 years ago where we deplatform and harass someone to death because their game was too sexually explicit or criticized the government.
I have no intention of collecting attention or validation, I don't care if people make me a martyr, a hero, a villain, or rightly continuing thinking of me as a nobody. I wasn't born into this world desperately clinging to anyone but my mother and my father. I was simply naked cold and probably quite miserable after someone smacked me on the ass.
If someone told me they would shoot me if I didn't let them censor this game or any other game I would 100% be a bitch and just let it go. But I'm not going to let it get to that point, so I say something while i still can say it comfortably.
Update 1.7 will be ready when it's ready. It's typical for unforeseen events to occur during game development that cause a delay. It could be a personal matter, a major bug, hardware or software issues. Who knows. Personally, I wouldn't mind if they needed to release it next month. We're already at the end of this month.
