You should make it clearer what your design ethos is emp, this isnt just any old ntr game. It's a NTR game. You need to harp on about that and include it in the tags.
The goal is to inflict emotional pain.
That's fairly rare in games nowadays so the people who want that will drawn to this game and the people who dont will be strongly repelled.
Like you really need to stress that fact, this game is made to break you emotionally. Like batmans back and banes knee.
ive played alot of ntr games and they didnt really affect me, they either feel like netori (you being the one to cheat) or more like sharing/lending games.
This game however does a good job of delivering emotional gut punches.
any other love interests outside of your gf cheat on you (yes the dev sets up love interests to harem bait you and pulls the rug on you), you never get to win anything no matter how hard you try. (it feels very unfair in the sense you are always the bad guy and the bad guy always gets what you wanted)
i started playing this game thinking whatever ill do what i want, and when it got hard i started leaning in to try and beat the challenge the dev set up.
I really should have quit while i was ahead.
they are not challenges you can beat, this game wasn't designed with the option for winning. You lose and you lose hard.
In that sense its a great ntr game delivers exactly what those kinds of people want.
but for me it left me in a depression for a few days and a sense of emotional devastation. Unlike anything ive ever felt (from a game at least.) I felt a deep sense of sorrow for the main character. To the point i noticed my body literally shaking paling and becoming extremely frigid especially in my fingers and face.
This game has instilled a deep sense of not wanting to EVER play another NTR game again EVER.
I thought i knew what i was getting into, i was feeling a sense of adventure. That's fucking dead. I wish i could delete this game from my memory.
I know some people have problems with the AI assets, but you've honestly done such a good job with most of the animations to rinse that generic feel off of them. Anyway I dont mind it especially if using a AI workflow helps you iterate gameplay mechanics and story faster and better. I feel like that's exactly the workflow that has allowed you uniquely to focus on the player experience instead of just shipping a product out of the door.
Very rarely is player freedom and choice as balanced and considerate as in this game.
And that's why I would support your project with my wallet lol. (For real from what I've seen you're a great dev and you deserve to be rewarded for your good work. Maybe you're waiting until your game gets more publicity before opening that can of worms. But i do genuinely feel like you have achieved in a mere alpha what 500 million dollar slop shooters have missed for the last decade and a half.)
I don't think its possible to be entirely independent or dependent on others emotionally mentally etc. just like its not possible to make art entirely for yourself or entirely for others. Anything and everything someone does is both for themselves and someone else.
At the end of the day they have the veto to say "hey f off im doing something important" but and ill be brutally honest if they dont respond when people say "hey this is cool i want to support this please put more effort into it" then they deserve to not make money or find fame.
noted that's why I stopped giving them money. If they don't want to focus on the game, I like over the five other ones that I could care less about that's fine. But I'm not going to vote for that with my money.
I never thought I was owed anything physical either, but if someone supports your work perhaps you should listen to what they like? Otherwise, who are you making it for? yourself?
Honestly banning art directly has never been a popular regime since people really enjoy art. But banning art you don't like has. Every seriously tyrannical regime has done it since time immoral and the only reason you can't do so in America is because of all the people who have died standing up for what they thought is right (and the ideology those people's deaths helped inspire.) Even something as silly as starmaker story would get you hanged in a place like Iran. That seems like an overblown and seriously ridiculous notion to first world citizens but it's very possible in places without explicit freedom of artistic expression.
You couldn't say you have freedom of speech if your senator could cut your tongue off if you said something bad about him right? That's basically what artistic freedom is. We could easily backslide right back to 50 years ago where we deplatform and harass someone to death because their game was too sexually explicit or criticized the government.
I have no intention of collecting attention or validation, I don't care if people make me a martyr, a hero, a villain, or rightly continuing thinking of me as a nobody. I wasn't born into this world desperately clinging to anyone but my mother and my father. I was simply naked cold and probably quite miserable after someone smacked me on the ass.
If someone told me they would shoot me if I didn't let them censor this game or any other game I would 100% be a bitch and just let it go. But I'm not going to let it get to that point, so I say something while i still can say it comfortably.
I wrote several papers on the subject matter in college while I was studying; I had the AI summarize and revise said papers to make it simple enough for people like you to understand without strenuous reading.
If it exists today its because millions of people died to make it happen, that includes everything from a toaster to you as a living creature. People like you have existed since Shakespeare and that's why he ended up dead in a ditch instead of rich.

Artistic freedom exists because of the people who have died for it over thousands of years often in grotesque and brutal ways like degloving or burning alive, but a useful idiot like you who only knows how to sit on their ass and consume what others make for them wouldn't know anything about that so no one can blame you.
In fact its smart people's fault for building society so comfortable and safe even someone like you who used to be weeded out by evolution gets to reproduce.
Sick society condemns someone for their passion and desire for freedom, what else is new? Certainly not the low IQ mouth breathers enforcing the will of others who wouldn't even piss on you if you were burning alive. I can't blame them though because I wouldn't.
*Also the irony to mock someone for being a gooner while you're here on this page commenting, you think we believe you just blew in here from stupid town and you're better than all of us? Maybe if you put as much effort into thinking as you do masturbating, you'd be capable of understanding what im saying.
This is probably the best thing to happen for nsfw devs, I mean it is disheartening to see an entire industry trying to tear down and burn something i love. But it also artificially cuts the supply and increases the demand much higher. Meaning the devs that can handle it won't be starving anytime soon.
People desperately want to see this dev and his/her team succeed. Now it's not even because they make good games -which they do- it's about seeing david beat goliath.
These people were already censoring and condemning nsfw devs behind the scenes, its only now that they've declared outright war.
This is not a downfall, its a opportunity to unify and unite to clean out a corrupt system. This entire platform, this entire community of hundreds of millions of people wants to see these people fall on their swords.
Remember you are not the first and you will not be the last, but you can be one of the few that wins.
If you hide, if you sulk, if run away you WILL LOSE. The only way to win is to stand tall and be free. Do not go quietly into the night, rage and you might just be heard screaming in the storm. Reach out boldly to the people who WANT to hear you, they exist and I am one of them.
Honestly It kind of makes me a little bit annoyed such a great game is being put on the back burner, but instead of making a big deal about it I just decided to vote with my wallet and sponsor it on Patreon. That's my way of encouraging the dev to want to work more on the game that I love.
Specifically, because it's one of the few games that actually integrates romance and kinky sex which is kind of apt for the world and its setting. Makes me feel so much more invested in what's actually happening.
Put it like this if you just turned this game into a brothel sim and removed anna you would have nothing left. Her journey (and maybe some future prospects) is what makes it so interesting and fun.
No insult to the devs but the slow ass navigation system and the event system (It's kind of cool to be honest, but making a app for the player to keep track of events or even the schedule of characters is badly needed. 99% of the reason its so frustrating isnt because you have to wait for the event its that there's so many its really hard to keep track of just from memory. The calendar is helpful but it doesnt keep track of anything besides the quests and visits + you have to be in your room to use it) would have killed a lesser game.
I don't even mind the visual novel element, but most of them are just really lazy and linear. It's like you're just reading a book and clicking to get to the next page over and over. When there's actual choices, gameplay, and stats that's when it gets interesting.
It's to the point that alot of people just use the visual novel tag as "this is a book I made now come read it" when it's actually (in my opinion) a tag that means the game uses text and simple backgrounds along with images. Where a straight up novel game would be something like trials in tainted space where most interactions are actually just words and very few pictures and images.
I think the reason they don't want to implement her wearing her slutty outfits in the house is they would need to generate unique scenes for every single one of them and for the 20 or 40 outfits in the studio we're talking about 100-250 new pictures of her in those clothes.
It would probably be preferable to just give the player new options in the photoshoot to move to different places in the house or even take on even more positions/angles. That would reduce the workload from 100s of new pictures to just 30-40. 0
(Maybe I'm wrong and they use an overlay workflow, then it would be pretty reasonable to at least include a few more outfits around the house.)
I kind of feel like the emphasis on threesomes by default dilutes the punch of her slut route. It's a compromise to keep the romance fans happy, makes it feel less hurtful to them. But why the hell should you design the slut route to appeal to the romance seekers? I want it to be like charlottes invite to the studio. You get the choice between letting her go to town on anna or joining in with her.
Disappointed from the lack of slutty options for uploading to anna's starmaker page. It would be cool to be able to take pictures of her at the starcon or park being used by other guys. Yeah, it's not everyone's cup of tea but it's still a big part of the game and its appeal. How many games can you obsessively lewd your harem and horde them? Seems like Billions, but there's only one game where you can turn your waifu into a "star" and share her to gain reputation or resources. This one.
