Chess+ - Chess, But With New Pieces

I've recently started up another game, and decided to share my progress here. This game is very early in development. It is called Chess+, and it's chess but with some additions. You can collect pieces, and customize your personal chess set. All the pieces that currently exist in chess are here, but there are also new pieces as well, with different move and attack patterns (feel free to suggest ideas). The goal is to add even more strategy and make the game more interesting, as you can go up against people with all sorts of different layouts. You can also customize the "skin" your pieces have, but that's not really one of the main features of the game.

Here's me demoing the default chess set's movement. There's no animation, no attacking yet; but those are planned additions. This is just the very beginning of development.

That's all for now; Thanks for reading!

Here's the next update to the game. I have implemented attacking, as well as smooth animated  movement. You can also see me testing out one of the custom pieces, which are checkers. You can see that when they attack, they will move one space past the piece that they just took. Additionally, you are forced to take turns, where each player must wait for the other to finish their turn before they can go.

Hey I like this. I thought of a similar thing like this a while back as well.  What other pieces are you adding and are you planning on having some music as well?

Thanks. Some of the other pieces that are planned are Walls (can't move or attack; simply stay in their starting position until they are taken), Ghosts (move 2 spaces in any direction, taking pieces they land on but not ones they go through), and Assassins (which move like Queens, but are invisible to the opponent unless they select a piece who's move pattern would land it on the Assassin). Those aren't all of my ideas, just a sample, but I'm still trying to find more ideas for pieces as I don't have any many as I'd like. And I do plan on having music in it, if you know of a good place where I can get game music, that'd be great!

Those peices sound really cool yo.  I could maybe make some music but I don't have any proof that I'm good at making music haha. I am gonna put my first album out on bandcamp soon though. I'm thinking kinda sorta ambient music that doesn't sound very spacey would work for a chess game. I can try making some for ya if you want. Maybe it would turn out halfway decent? I don't know?
