Hey everyone,
My name is Ege and I am a recent computer science graduate. I hope to land a job as a programmer in industry, but with the market at its current state, I find that the best I can do is develop my skills until things get a little bit better. I'd say I'm a relatively experienced Unity developer, though game programming has a bunch of sub-fields, each with its own domain specific knowledge, and I'm looking to gain more breadth by dipping my toes in each of them through technically advanced projects and tech demos for my portfolio.
An example would be my last project, where I simulated a swarm of bees by implementing an AI steering system. It had simple behaviors like seek, arrive and align, and more complicated ones like path following. I like learning new programming patterns, and I usually read a textbook or some other resource as I work through the project. I enjoy doing this, but find that if I had a collaborator that I got along with, and could discuss concepts with, I would both me more rewarding and just a better learning experience overall.
So, if there is anyone out there in a similar position, please contact me. My idea was that we could have daily check-ins, implement different parts of systems or even code together swarm styles. I am also open to working on any kind of project as long as it teaches me something new and challenges me. You can find my previous work on my website and LinkedIn page, which I will be linking below. Also my email is egeyilmaz2023@u.northwestern.edu if you're interested in working together.
