Pulse, A Crowdsourced Quantum Feedback Game (Built by Noro)

What is Pulse?

Pulse is a browser-based game where players rescue noisy quantum computers by fixing errors and restoring logical qubits.
Every move players make generates real-world data that will train AI decoders and improve quantum error correction strategies for actual quantum hardware.

Pulse is not just a game.
It is a living scientific experiment, a platform for evolving quantum feedback control using human intuition.

Think Foldit, but for the quantum future.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A browser-focused game developer who can build:
    • Intuitive player interfaces
    • Real-time scoring, progression systems, achievements
    • Basic backend data logging for player sessions
  • Suggested stack (flexible):
    • Streamlit, Gradio, Flask/React
    • Plotly or Three.js for visualization
    • Firebase/Supabase/SQLite for session data
  • Interest in educational, serious, or scientific games is a plus, but not required.
  • Curiosity about quantum computing or AI is highly valued.

Commitment and Compensation:

Volunteer/Portfolio Role:

  • Full credits on the website and GitHub
  • Potential co-authorship on future scientific publications
  • Incentive-Based, given approximately 20-30% of revenue of the game

Paid Contract Option:

  • Modest MVP Project Fee ($1,500–$2,500 depending on final scope)
  • Payment distributed based on project milestones

Timeline (Up to Debate)

  • MVP Build: July 2025
  • Alpha Player Study Launch: August  2025
  • Public Beta Launch: October 2025

Why Join Pulse?

  • Build something real, impactful, and cutting-edge
  • Work on a serious project blending quantum computing, machine learning, and human gameplay
  • Gain high-visibility experience in scientific game design
  • Potential contribution to future research papers, academic conferences, or NSF projects
  • Join the founding circle of a global education and research movement

How to Apply:

Send an email to erickim1492@gmail.com

Subject: "Pulse Developer Application"

Include:

  • Your name
  • 1–2 previous projects or links (Any of the following: GitHub, itch.io, personal website, resume)
  • A short paragraph about why this project interests you (You can GPT it, I just want to know what you bring to the table)

Additional Note:

If you have ever wished you contributed to pioneering scientific games like Foldit, Eterna, or Eyewire, this is your opportunity to shape the next wave of scientific crowdsourcing through human-machine collaboration.

Let us build the future of quantum education and error correction.
