Stunned and Into The Fray Sticky

Hi,

In a recent game ([0.5.9.4]-black_panther-the_wrecking_crew-expert-(100)-(1543854291).json) I was stunned and there no minions in play. I tried to play Into the Fray (https://marvelcdb.com/card/13013) tu remove my stun card, but I was not able because I could not select an objective, as seen here:

However, the rules state that:

"A stunned character can attempt to attack or use an attack ability even if it has no valid target for an attack."

Thanks in advance!

Into the fray can only damage minions. Those are all Villians.

Yes, but I want to use it to remove the stun card. I should be able to do that, even if there are no valid targets, because of the rule I've quoted. This was introduced in version 1.6 of the rules.

you can make a basic attack with no target to remove stunned. Not any attack.

I know, but my hero was exhausted. What is more, the cards I had in my hand were useless at the moment and I was going to discard them anyway. I wanted to remove my stun with those (otherwise) useless cards to give them some use.

And, moreover, this was a post about a bug that prevents you from doing something that you should be able to do, even if it were pointless.

Developer

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for your bug report regarding card “13013” (Into the Fray) in version 0.5.9.4.

We are not certain whether you can play “13013” in that situation, as updating the engine to support this feature would require significant work. We welcome everyone to share their thoughts on this matter.

I think you cannot, since removing a Stunned status cards requieres to replace an Attack, since there are no valid targets for the attack event it cannot be played (initiate an attack), since it cannot initiate an Attack, there is no effect for the Stunned status card to replace, ergo, Into the Fray cannot be played.

Ok, so, I'll have to revert this, it seems the developers really want you to shake that Stunned status card as you can see in the last bullet point here:

Yes, exactly. This is the section from the Rules (version 1.6) that I quoted in the OP. So the intention of the designers is to make this kind of thing work.

Anyway, I can see that it might be difficult to redesign the whole app to accommodate this, so I completely understand it you give this a low priority.

Thanks!
