Anyone know any RPG and/or Adventure games here that actually have some game mechanics in them?
Most the games I'm seeing are pretty much JUST X content simulators

I have found two already, but I have already played/beat them (at least what has been released so far)
Town of Magic
Knightly Passions

Must be available for free and for windows
(Knightly passions looks like has more content for pay, but I don't have ANY money - I'm on assistance/zero income)

What do you consider a game mechanic?

Like grinding levels, character stats, fighting mobs and such.... the normal stuff a game would have. :/

I make one like that, but it's for Android. But in some weeks I'll publish it for Windows too. You can follow me and know when I release.

It is in fact based on the way tabletops RPG work, as I was gamemaster, and developed my own system lots of years ago. I also plan to make the tabletop version in some future.

Not aware of its presence here, but you should look into the specific game dev communities for the RPG Maker and Adventure Game Studio tools. They're very old and very used to releasing things for free, so you'll find literal decades of games to choose from.

Yah, I already have my eye on that one :p

@DStecks
I'll try and take a look at that :)
