A couple of bugs playing against Venom Goblin

Hi,

I've played a game with Psylocke against Venom Goblin: [0.5.9.4]-psylocke-venom_goblin-(10)-(319327081).json

I found a strange bug that I think I encountered before. This is the screenshot:

I think this happened after I pressed the ESC key to unselect the Psi-Knife.

In addition to this, in an attack, I defended with an ally. However, the boost card made the attack deal indirect damage, so I received some damage. I had Front-Line Specialist in play, so I think that I should have been able to use its response to draw a card, but I was not given the choice.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for reporting the bug in version 0.5.9.4.

Unfortunately, we were unable to reproduce the issue you encountered. We received two save files:

  1. [0.5.9.4]-psylocke-venom_goblin-(10)-(319327081).json
  2. [0.5.9.4]-psylocke-venom_goblin-(274)-(319327081).json

The first file did not contain any recorded operations, while the second file included actions up to step 249. We used the second file and were able to replicate your situation at step 10 (Play “46020” using 2 “41002a”), but we did not encounter any errors when pressing the ESC key or clicking Cancel or OK with the mouse.

It’s important to note that the ESC key functions as a Redo key, not a Cancel key. If you have recorded operations (e.g., during a replay), pressing ESC will trigger those actions. However, in normal gameplay without recorded operations, pressing ESC will do nothing, which is why it may seem like a Cancel key.

In your case, do you have any recorded operations? For example, did you play “46020” first and then use Goto or Undo to step 10? This could explain the issue you experienced. If so, please provide additional details to help us reproduce it.

Thank you!

I do not really remember what was the sequence ok keys and actions, sorry :( In any case, I was able to continue playing without any problem.

Regarding Front Line Specialist, it is quite clear to me that the response should trigger. I took damage and the damage was from an attack. I really can't see why not. The card exactly says "After your identity takes damage from an enemy attack", and that is what happened. I'm curious why you may think it should not trigger.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @quantumodo,

Regarding “43036” (Front Line Specialist), we are unsure whether the indirect damage you experienced is considered part of the attack. If you find any FAQ or rule that supports your perspective, please let us know.

Thank you!

To clarify it, the boost card is not dealing indirect damage independently of the attack. It is making the attack damage be indirect damage, but it still is the attack damage.

Hi @quantumodo,

Thank you for your message. You are correct that “43036” should indeed trigger after your identity takes damage, even if your identity is not the target of the attack.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge that there was an error in our script regarding “27061” and “27062.” We will make sure to address these issues in the next version.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks for addressing this!
