It’s inspired by Crash Twinsanity (mainly for the aesthetic), and if you didn’t notice the roll animation and the air dash, Nier Replicant/Automata mixed with Ender Lilies. And a bunch of others that would take a whole paragraph to list.
Summary of the story without spoiling the twist:
You play as Arfop, an unknown hybrid stuck in a "Weird Realm", where he meets "Some People" who help him "Regain", "Accept", and "Control/Calm it" something he lost — and lost too.
The game has two parts:
First, it focuses on exploration, combat, puzzles, dialogue, and a PS2-era vibe, reminiscent of Crash Twinsanity and Psychonauts.
Second, it shifts to boss fights with a roguelite system, inspired mainly by Warframe: Duviri.
You’ll progress through a set of stages before reaching the boss.
These stages have different objectives, like defeating waves of enemies in a set time or collecting fragments while dodging projectiles.
Failing a stage rewinds you to the previous one. Until you’ll either make it back to the first stage or a checkpoint.
Every stage you complete lets you choose from 3 upgrade cards. Some carry into later stages, others reset after the next.
If you have any feedback or ideas I'll be happy to hear it. <:
