Cider fails to log in

on version 2.6.1.9, protocol 203, genten framework, manjaro linux, installed as a flatpak. app boots fine and has previously been able to log in though sometimes fails then eventually fixes itself. I tried updating (was previously on 2.5.0, though the issue persists) but that did not fix it. the login window states a network issue (first image) then proceeds to empty menus (2nd). Is this a temporary api (or similar) thing or is this something that i can prevent from happening in the long run? thanks

Have the same issue here.

Same issue here. Tried to uninstall and reinstall, then signed into Apple Music in Edge. When I did that, my library at least showed up but nothing ever actually loaded, so it does seem like some sort of API issue. Which is strange, considering I signed in on another computer earlier today no problem.

Alright, cider is back for me. Is it working now for everyone else?
Can I expect this to return again, and for what duration if it is typical?

Working for me now too. Probably a temporary issue on Apple’s side if I were to guess

It is NOT working for me. I uninstalled, reinstalled. Everytime I select to login to Apple, a blank popup shows up. If I close it, another automatically reopens. But it never brings me to a login page. It was just working a few days ago, I don't know why I even got signed out.

Edit: I'm on Windows 11

Edit 2: I followed the intructions on Twitter from another thread, and it resolved the issue.

can you please provide the thread you mentioned?

unable to find any solution

Thank you!

I've got the exact same issue, could you share the fix?

Follow those instructions. Use taproom, link your itch.io, download latest version. After you download, don't try to login right away. First, click the 3 dot icon ( ... ), click Updates, update to latest Stable Branch. After it updates, THEN log in, and you should be good.

same issue, any updates regarding a solution?

Hello all! Apple has had API issues for the last day or so. This means that Apple Music Web has also been down.

Make sure to update to latest. To make sure you have, open the Updates panel in Cider's main menu, then check to see if you have the latest Stable installed. If not, and it says you need to update, head over to your download provider. For Itch.io, it is no longer this download page, but instead Cider Taproom, a new page for us to easily deliver updates to our community. It allows you to log in with your Itch.io, Patreon, and Discord Supporter accounts. Head over to Taps, select your platform, and hit download. Then, head over to the in-app updater again and install stable. Latest as of writing this post is 2.6.1.9.

If you have any more questions feel free to comment under this post.

Updating via taproom solved my login issue, thanks!

It worked for me too ! thanks !

Worked for me, thank you!

I'm having issues as well. Couldn't login into Apple Music (never get a window). When trying to install latest version (v2.0.3) from TapRoom gives me an exception:

error: The application sh.cider.genten/x86_64/stable requires the runtime org.freedesktop.Platform/x86_64/24.08 which was not found

I've uninstalled previous version and try to fresh install new version. Same error. I've checked Freedesktop  installed version with:

flatpak list --runtime | grep "Freedesktop Platform"

And its just there:

Freedesktop Platform    org.freedesktop.Platform    freedesktop-sdk-23.08.28    23.08    user

Freedesktop Platform    org.freedesktop.Platform    freedesktop-sdk-24.08.14    24.08    user

Anyone else have this?

I tried `flatpak install cider-linux-x64.flatpak --user` and that works! So default installation is system context, and than it cant find freedesktop platform because its installed in the user context. Thanks to Isaac McFayden.

I just press ok there and everything works fine.
My problem is, that somehow while listening after a few weeks it just randomly logs me out mid session.

I downloaded and installed cider-v2.0.3-linux-x64.pkg.tar.zst. It shows version2.6.1.9 but I cant log in with my AM account. I got a 403 Forbbiden. Does anybody have a fix for this ?
