Norton keeps fudging with itch and butler?

I have Norton Security on my current machine, and it seems to keep interfering with my installation of itch and its connection to butler. I already checked how to have the antivirus ignore itch, but the version of Norton doesn't possess a "whitelist" to place filepaths into. If it does, I didn't see it. How do I solve the problem with Norton?

its the same story, these "anti-virues" are just programs that have a list in the servers. If the program you installing is not in the list, it will block it. The best you can do is uninstall it because these "anti-virues" do not really scan programs they only check if the program is in the list.

If that's the case, then my next question is: which anti-virus should I use instead? As much as I don't like my current situation, I don't want to risk getting anything malicious getting into my machine just because I want to use the itch app without uninstalling-reinstalling it every single time.

Microsoft firewall works but if you want something then try simplewall: https://www.henrypp.org/product/simplewall

If you think the program has a virues or something try https://app.any.run/
