Can't launch on MacOS

Launching the application just throws up a generic (and not particularly helpful) error message saying that "the application 'doodle empires mac' could not be opened".

ok fixed, just open terminal and then run the following command:

sudo chmod +x "[pathname of doodle empires]/Contents/MacOS/Doodle Empires"

so for example, for me, the command was:

sudo chmod +x "/Applications/Doodle Empires Mac.app/Contents/MacOS/Doodle Empires"

then run it, but run it by right-clicking and then pressing "open" from the dropdown menu instead of just double-clicking like usual.

I've tried copying your troubleshoot, but it still refuses to work for me. I don't know if the new update's part of the problem, or whether I'm inputting something wrong maybe...

Any help would be much appreciated

If you haven't tried to launch via the itch.io app then try that

I've tried this strategy as well as many others and I can't open it. Do you think this is an issue with the game, Itch.Io, Finder, Launchpad, or my computer?

If you haven't tried to launch via the itch.io app then try that

This seems to be a universal problem with the MAC version of the game itself, since I have the exact same issue, and I've tried on two different apple devices already
